About Vijayanagara and Bahmani Kingdoms

In the fourteenth century, as the Delhi Sultanate's grip on the south weakened, two powerful new kingdoms rose almost side by side in the Deccan. One, the Vijayanagara Empire, was founded by the brothers Harihara and Bukka in 1336. The other, the Bahmani Kingdom, was founded just eleven years later by Ala-ud-din Bahman Shah. For over two centuries, these two kingdoms fought, traded, and shaped each other's history. This quiz covers both in real depth.

It starts with each kingdom's own founding, then follows the Vijayanagara Empire through its Sangama, Saluva, and Tuluva dynasties, right up to Krishnadeva Raya's glittering reign and the empire's eventual defeat at the Battle of Talikota in 1565.
