Each question below gives two or three statements, followed by two numbered conclusions. Treat the statements as true, even if they seem unusual, and decide which of the conclusions, if any, follow logically from the statements using only standard rules: "All A are B" means every member of A is also a member of B, but not necessarily the reverse; "Some A are B" means at least one member of A is also a member of B; "No A are B" means no member of A is a member of B at all. A conclusion follows only if it must be true whenever the statements are true, not merely if it seems likely or plausible. Assume every category named in a question has at least one member.

About Syllogisms: Which Conclusions Actually Follow

CLAT's Logical Reasoning section includes syllogisms: a set of statements is given as true, and each question asks whether one or more numbered conclusions must also be true -- no outside knowledge of the categories involved is needed, and no real-world truth or plausibility matters, only whether the conclusion is logically forced by the statements.

This quiz is built around one fixed set of rules for reading statements and testing conclusions, given once. Every question below presents its own short, independent pair (or trio) of statements using invented, unrelated categories, so prior knowledge can never help or hurt.

The twenty questions cover the full range of classic syllogism patterns: valid chains where both conclusions follow, patterns where only one conclusion follows, and patterns that look plausible but where neither conclusion is actually forced to be true.
