The 1970s brought Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's skyhook, Julius Erving's dunks, and one-title wonders like Bill Walton and Wes Unseld.

The 1980s belonged to the Magic Johnson and Larry Bird rivalry, with Isiah Thomas's Pistons and Moses Malone's 76ers in between.
